Summar Altaee has more than a decade of legal experience in Australia and abroad, working in local and international firms across common law and civil law jurisdictions.
Her advice covers litigation across a wide variety of matters, ranging from small joint ventures and contractual disputes to multi-million dollar complex commercial, construction and employment disputes.
She has also assisted clients in the public and private sectors with responding to ASIC, ACCC and FWO notices, and she has assisted on matters for clients, including SMEs and an international port, as well as major banks, corporations, and large developers in the United Arab Emirates.
Summar has participated in setting up and leading large information-intensive reviews for disclosure exercises on litigation and arbitration matters, as well as internal and regulatory investigations.
Summar has a Master of Laws from Monash University with a focus on commercial, corporate and insolvency law. She also has a Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies (Arabic / English legal texts) from Monash University and is a member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Summar has Contributed to the Women, Business and the Law 2020, World Bank Group, which is the sixth in a series of studies that analyse laws and regulations affecting women’s economic opportunity in 190 economies.
Summar is fluent in both English and the Arabic language.
