Corporate Citizen

As a leading Victorian law firm, Aitken Partners is proud to act as a good corporate citizen, actively demonstrating our commitment to corporate social responsibility, pro bono work, equal opportunity and diversity in employment, and equitable briefing for barristers and other suppliers of outsourced services.

We recognise the importance of giving back to the community and making a positive impact beyond our legal services. Our corporate social responsibility initiatives focus on contributing to the welfare of society by supporting local charities, participating in community events, and promoting sustainable practices within our firm.

In addition, our firm is dedicated to pro bono work, providing legal assistance to organisations in need, who may not have the financial means to access legal services. We believe that access to justice is fundamental, and we are committed to making a difference by offering our legal expertise to those who require assistance.

We have many lawyers who provide time to community legal centres.

Furthermore, Aitken Partners is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. We promote equal opportunity and diversity in employment, recognising the value of a diverse workforce in delivering innovative solutions to better serve our clients. We are committed to providing a workplace that is inclusive, supportive, and free from discrimination, where all employees are treated with respect and fairness.

We have an internal working group, Aitken Partners Women (APW). APW was formed as a result of the firm signing the Law Institute of Victoria Charter for the Advancement of Women. As part of this initiative, we launched the Aitken Partners Women In Business Network, which aims to create a network that enables women to build relationships, share experiences and network in a way that focuses on them, involving many of our clients and friends of the firm. Equitable briefing is also a priority for us. We actively engage in briefing barristers from diverse backgrounds, including women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and individuals from the many cultural and ethnic backgrounds that make Australia such a rich society. We believe that diversity in the legal profession is vital for achieving justice and providing a well-rounded representation for our clients.

As a leading law firm, we strive to lead by example.
