As October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, our guest speakers for this event are Dr Menka Tsantefski and Susan Ilias, who will be presenting their professional and personal insights into Domestic Violence.

Dr Menka Tsantefski is Associate Professor, Social Work & Community Welfare at Southern Cross University. She is a social worker with over 15 years' experience working with families affected by problematic parental substance use. Menka's research focuses on the intersection of problematic substance use, domestic and family violence, mental health and child protection concerns. She is co-author of Working with Substance-affected Parents and their Children and co-editor of Working with Families Experiencing Vulnerability: A partnership approach, 3rd Ed. Menka is also Susan Ilias' big sister!

Susan Ilias is a highly experienced family lawyer at Aitken Partners, with significant experience with Intervention Orders and acting as an Independent Children’s Lawyer (ICL). Her passion is in providing a voice to those that find it hard to be heard, especially in her work as an ICL.
