Aitken Partners team win the 2023 Grand Final of the Victorian Women Lawyer’s Warren Moot

We are proud to announce that our brilliant Aitken Partners team has won the Grand Final of the Victorian Women Lawyer’s (VWL) Warren Moot. The Grand Final took place on 20 November in the Banco Court of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

The Warren Moot is named in honour of former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Honourable Marilyn Warren AC KC. It is open to women law students, graduates and solicitors who are members of VML, and provides participants with an opportunity to test their advocacy skills and engage directly with respected members of the judiciary.

The Aitken Partners team, comprising Ebony Mack, Amanda Robinson, Summar Altaee and Lauren Woolley, argued for the respondent to an appeal from the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) and were successful in defeating a talented team from the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office.

This is a fantastic achievement; preparing written submissions that garnered praise from the bench and withstanding some tough questions from former Chief Justice Warren. Ebony, Amanda, Summar and Lauren have set the bar high for next year’s Warren Moot!
