Wills and Estates: 04 August 2020
Aitken Partners has continued its expansion in the face of the COVOD-19 crisis with the recruitment of new Principal Lawyer Daniel Black. Daniel heads the firm's acclaimed Wills & Estates Team.
The now 5-strong team boasts decades of experience in all facets of Wills & Estates, with a particular focus on contested wills and complex succession plans.
"We are proud of our Wills & Estates team, and Daniel is a superb addition as a new team leader for it,Aitken Partners' Ed Clark said recently. "From the top down with lawyers the calibre and experience of Rob Davey and emerging talents like Lizia Lim, Linda Hart and Jack Conway, we have a great team for anything to do with Wills & Estates, from basic Wills to complex succession planning and contested wills and everything in between.
"We hold tens of thousands of Wills and Powers of Attorney in our secured Deeds Room for our long-term clients.
Daniel joins Aitken Partners from Coulter Roache in Geelong and the move to a Melbourne CBD law firm reflects his desire to continue his growth in contested Wills. It is anticipated that when business conditions in Australia Daniel will spend time working out of a satellite office on the Bellarine Peninsula or Geelong, helping the firm to return to its pre-1920s roots.
"I was drawn to join Aitken Partners firstly by the quality of the lawyers working here, and in particular the quality and reputation of the Wills & Estates team,Daniel said. "To be a part of a top performing Wills & Estates team was a big attraction.
"I also had previous dealings with some of the lawyers at Aitken Partners on a professional basis, and in professional development groups, so I already had connections with some of the staff.
"Aitken Partners' connection with farming clients was also a big draw card. Having grown up in a small country town in Central Victoria, and previously working in a regional law firm, it was great to be able to join a Melbourne based firm and maintain a connection to rural and regional clients. So, when an opportunity arose to join Aitken Partners it just seemed like a natural fit.
Daniel is one of four Principal Lawyer Appointments at Aitken Partners during 2020.
