Erin is a trusted litigation lawyer with experience in a broad range of commercial disputes. Erin’s matters often include contractual disputes, shareholder and director disputes, consumer law claims, franchising disputes and recovering personal and company debts.

Erin acts for a variety of medium-sized businesses through to ASX listed companies and insolvency practitioners. Erin prides herself on her commercial nous and acknowledging that a resolution must be tailored to address the parties’ ongoing relationship, amount in dispute, underlying interests and company values.

Erin also has many years’ experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, which gives her a unique perspective when resolving disputes which are centred around them.

In her practice, Erin’s matters are regularly heard throughout the Courts in Victoria, VCAT and the Federal Court. Erin also has experience acting in matters throughout New South Wales and Queensland.

Some cases Erin has advised on include:

  1. Tardis Nominees Pty Ltd v Ocean 3d Film Pty ltd (in liq) [2020] VSC 494 – being a proceeding concerning intellectual property rights and a contractual right to distribute the ‘Turtle Odyssey 3D’ film worldwide.
  2. Emperors Temple Pty Ltd v Xia Cheng [2018] VCC 3205 – being a proceeding seeking recovery of a debt and payment of legal costs.
  3. Aucare Dairy Pty Ltd v Huang [2017] FCA 746 – being a proceeding concerning a failed joint venture, breaches of directors’ duties and the retention of property. This case is also a leading authority on legal professional privilege where fraud is alleged.
  4. Peninsula Hot Springs Pty Ltd v Southern Rural Water [2017] VCAT 2103 – being a proceeding brought against the local water authority to vary a water license.
