Qualifications: Bachelor of Laws (Honours) | Bachelor of Arts (Majors: Criminology and International Relations)
Lachlan is a commercial lawyer who has been practising since 2022. Lachlan studied law at Monash University.
Lachlan practises across a broad range of commercial matters, but specialises in:
- Mergers and Acquisitions. Preparing documents in relation to the sale of businesses, shares and assets.
- Start‑up / Scale‑up. Working closely with Founders to help commercialise their ideas, including preparing documents in relation to and helping manage capital raises, negotiating with investors and shareholders, negotiating agreements with licensors or key contractors, and ensuring the business is primed for any eventual exit event.
- Intellectual Property. Advising on and preparing applications for trade marks. Preparing and licence agreements for SaaS and PaaS business.
- Corporate Structuring. Advising on corporate structure to help protect valuable business assets from trade risks. Preparing documents in relation to corporate restructures.
Lachlan also has a background in employment law and worked for a community legal centre specialising in the employment law space before settling on commercial law.
Outside of the law, Lachlan is an avid board gamer and also enjoys shaking up a cocktail or two, tapping back into his many years spent working in the hospitality industry whilst studying at university.
