General News: 23 March 2019

Two of Aitken Partners principals were recognised at last Friday's 2016 Law Institute of Victoria Awards. Kathy Wilson was acknowledged with the Accredited Specialist Achievement Award while Rob Bradley was given a Certificate of Service Award.

Aitken Partners congratulates Kathy on Rob on their Awards.

She is also co-chair of the LIV's Succession Law Section and is an active participant in regulatory change.

Kathy has a background in property law; commercial litigation and succession law with more than 20 years' experience advising in wills and succession planning; complex probate applications; asset structuring; the resolution of disputes in wills, property, estates and guardianship matters.

Kathy is also an active participant in the public discussion and debate on Wills & Estates laws, including Powers of Attorney, often appearing on radio and being quoted in print articles.

Kathy is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and sits on the board of Fed Square Pty Ltd, having previously served on its Chair. Fed Square Pty Ltd oversees management of Federation Square for the benefit of Victorians, interstate and international visitors.

He sits on the Property Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria's Property and Environmental Law section. His work with the LIV has spanned many years, and he is often involved when the committee has an unusual or complex property related matter such as covenant and easement removals or Sale of Land Act issues. He is a LIV representative on the Land Victoria/LIV Liaison Group which meets regularly with senior officials at the Titles Office.

Rob also works closely with planners and his experience across the spectrum of property and planning issues enables him to think outside the square in terms of traditional legal advice, to help his clients achieve the optimum outcome.
