Aged Care: 23 March 2019
The Federal Government has today announced the results of the 2014 Aged Care Approvals Round.
The Department of Social Services has advised that a total of 17,849 new aged care places were allocated across Australia (consisting of 11,196 residential aged care places and 6,653 home care places) which are estimated to have an annual funding value of over $833.6 million.
Competition for new residential aged care places was much stronger in 2014 ACAR than in previous years, and competition for new home care places was also extremely high. The Department received applications for 108,281 new home care places in respect of the 6,653 places which were available.
In addition to the aged care places, $103 million in capital grants will be allocated to assist aged care providers to build new or improve existing residential aged care services across the country.
