Yan Yean Road Duplication Update

Compulsory Acquisition: 23 March 2019

Michael Dunn, town planner and resident of Yan Yean Road, arranged a meeting at the Plenty Hall on Wednesday 26 October 2011. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss expert reports in relation to the duplication of Yan Yean Road. Additional funds were sought to pay for the required experts and representation at the upcoming panel hearing.

Aitken Partners already has a number of clients in this region who are proactively protecting their interests. I attended this meeting with those clients as well as other local residents. It is important at each stage of this process that those effected understand their legal rights.

As always, please do not take any steps with your property (or even list it on the market) without first discussing your legal strategy with experienced compulsory acquisition lawyers. We think we are well placed to assist you and are readily available to have an obligation free discussion about your situation.

On Monday 14 November at 10:30am, a Directions (preliminary) panel hearing is due to be held at the Eltham North Hall, located at Cedar Avenue off Wattletree Road.

This hearing is to decide the conduct of the main panel hearing which is presently scheduled for 28 November 2011. Michael Dunn will seek to adjourn the hearing until February next year so everyone can partake in the hearing and all of the necessary experts and the barrister to be briefed in the matter can attend. VicRoads appear to want the hearing to proceed on 28 November 2011.

If you want to have a say, you will need to attend and make your views known on 14 November.
